The stare

I was used to getting stares from people even before I came back to India. Its just that now I smile more confidently now at anyone who stares or looks at me.

And so far I have been successful in making quite a few more people smile back at me!

Falling in love with India ...

... all over again ..

Not that the love had ever reduced..
but just that it feels all the more now!

How important is it to strike a balance between personal and professional life?

A lot. Close the dukaan when required.

They just come and stand in front of you and ask for money.

End of a journey.

My Stay in the US comes to an end.
I am now traveling back to India for good.

Public Conveyance

I was discussing with a friend today here that how difficult it is to travel within a city or from one small city to the other here in the US. I miss the simplest forms of transport like the rickshaws that are available in India.

Nostalgia

Whenever I leave a place I am so nostalgic about it. Its something with me that I develop an emotional attachment with that place.

Homewards...

back to where I belong.
back to where my presence is valued.
back to where they need me the most.
back to being with people who have spent years waiting for me.

Last week in the US, before I head back to India for good.

And hence the journey started

As I got to know yesterday, US is the only country where they call the graduation ceremony 'commencement'.

The ceremony is not only meant to congratulate the student on their academic achievement, but also to wish good luck for the commencement of the new journey that they are going to start.

What a wonderful thought!

Understanding Beauty

I have often grappled with this situation and often a dichotomy of appreciating beauty from the outside versus the inside.

The beauty from what is there to see versus the beauty what is there to be experienced through speech, actions and interactions.

I have come to realize that sometimes beauty is best understood only when looked closely.

How often we tend to mistake things for not being good without even bothering to take a closer look! I wonder whats the hurry in things. Why can't people just spend time in knowing things better.

Opening up ..

When one thing ends..
it always opens up to newer horizons.
Newer possibilities and newer inspirations.
The new world is then waiting to be explored with all the new found energy and motivation.

Loneliness

Today I had this immense feeling of loneliness.
I wanted to have dinner with someone .. talk my thoughts out .. but there was no one :)
So I treated myself and had a nice intimate conversation with myself.
